The gorgeous Waldorf Astoria Resort in Maui, Grand Wailea, is looking for a dynamic
Destination Planning Manager
to join the Sales and Events Team! Located on 40 acres of lush tropical gardens, this Forbes 4-Star, AAA 4-Diamond property is consistently ranked among the world\'s best resorts with 780 rooms, 100,000 square feet of banquet space, and 7 food and beverage outlets. This includes 3 restaurants, 3 bars, a cafe, and in-room dining. In this role, you will actively promote the services and facilities of the resort to all customers and guests and cross sell the other products within the company brands. This unique position is hybrid supporting both the Sales, Marketing and Events Departments. The ideal candidate will have at least two (2) years\' experience in either Sales or Events, be able to handle high-pace and volume, create WOW discovery visits and elevate client experiences for Grand Wailea customers. , , , What will I be doing? As a Destination Planning Manager, you would be responsible for supporting both the Sales, Marketing and Events Departments. Specifically, this includes but is not limited to:
  • Develop future and repeat business contributing to the profitability of the hotel through planning and executing Discovery Visits for remote managers, while partnering with on property group sellers to elevate the experience.
  • Contribute to the selling strategy of the hotel, and manage the departments\' adherence to achieving that strategy
  • Understand the competitive market place and implement approaches to ensure the resort stays ahead in the local market
  • Ensure Sales Team Members are developed effectively and generate a culture of high quality standards for relationship building, customer service, selling techniques, and billing and processing contracts
  • Build strong relationships with customers, Guests and Team Members in order to gain full understanding of their needs and work to serve them effectively
Group and Leisure Sales
  • Support remote group sales managers with site visit execution
  • Support leisure team with travel advisor discovery visits, when needed
  • Assist on property sales managers with elevating the customer experience for discovery visits and familiarization tours
Marketing
  • Planning public relations itineraries in respect to the story angle and publication (provided by the GWR Marketing MGR)
  • Planning influencer and tastemaker stays
  • Planning items for any familiarization and site visits for agency partners
Catering and Events
  • Support Catering and Events Managers with handling pre-planning visit details pre-arrival to visit
