We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Desktop Support Technician to join our IT support team. In this role, you will be the frontline hero for resolving technical issues, maintaining computer systems, and ensuring seamless operation across our organization. Duties
Provide comprehensive technical support to end-users for desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues related to computers, printers, monitors, and other IT equipment.
Assist with software troubleshooting, including installation, configuration, updates, and resolving application errors in Microsoft Office and other enterprise applications.
Manage user accounts and permissions using Active Directory and assist with password resets or account lockouts.
Support network connectivity issues by diagnosing problems related to LAN (Local Area Network), VPN (Virtual Private Network), DNS (Domain Name System), TCP/IP protocols, firewalls, and network hardware.
Maintain and update computer management tools such as SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) for software deployment and asset management.
Configure and support operating systems including Windows (Windows 10/11), macOS, Linux distributions, and Windows Server environments.
Assist with IT infrastructure maintenance tasks such as server management, network administration, and troubleshooting TCP connections or DNS configurations.
Utilize ticketing systems like ServiceNow or BMC Remedy to document incidents, track progress, and ensure timely resolution of support requests.
Support the deployment and maintenance of mobile devices and ensure security protocols are followed for VPN access and firewall configurations.
Collaborate with the IT team on larger projects involving network upgrades or hardware refreshes while providing excellent customer service throughout the process.
Communicate clearly with users at all levels to explain technical issues effectively and provide training or guidance when necessary.
Experience
Proven experience in providing desktop support or help desk services in a corporate environment.
Strong knowledge of computer hardware components, operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), and software troubleshooting techniques.
Hands-on experience managing Active Directory accounts, DNS settings, TCP/IP networking, VPN configurations, firewalls, and LAN/WAN environments.
Familiarity with enterprise tools such as SCCM for software deployment and asset management; ServiceNow or BMC Remedy for incident tracking; Jira for project management is a plus.
Understanding of IT infrastructure components including servers (Windows Server), network switches, routers, DNS servers, and TCP protocols.
Excellent analysis skills to diagnose complex technical issues quickly and accurately.
Exceptional communication skills to effectively interact with users of varying technical expertise while delivering outstanding customer service.
