We are looking for a Desktop Support Specialist to assist with day-to-day troubleshooting and support of hardware, software, and applications in a dynamic, onsite environment. This position will be a contract and onsite in Bethlehem, PA .



Schedule:

Thursday - Monday 3 pm - 11 pm



Must be able to qualify for, apply for, and obtain a Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board license.



What You'll Do



Test new technologies prior to deployment



Install and upgrade desktop operating systems, including network connectivity, standard applications, and associated peripherals



Troubleshoot software/hardware problems through debugging, testing, and vendor assistance



Provide recommendations regarding software/hardware changes to correct problems



Update virus protection programs and client PC operating systems



Diagnose and identify failing/failed components using testing procedures and diagnostic software



Research, resolve, and recommend solutions to complex, technically oriented user problems



Communicate resolutions to appropriate IS staff and system users



Assist in defining policies and procedures and work to improve call handling and resolution processes



Instruct system users on basic application and personal productivity software functions in informal settings



Log problem calls and resolutions in the ticketing system (Freshservice)



Manage staff and organize department functions in accordance with company guidelines



Delegate tasks and assignments, meeting deadlines related to those assignments



Direct others in completing tasks or assignments, provide advice, and offer expertise or judgment based on gathered and analyzed information



Arrange timelines to complete tasks and department assignments, ensuring deadlines are met



Evaluate information and render opinions or actions that impact the department or function



Focus on achieving the goals or objectives of the department



Develop a working knowledge of PGCB rules, regulations, and Internal Controls applicable to your position

What You'll Need



Required:



Must be able to qualify for, apply for, and obtain a Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board license



Minimum 3 years of general PC and IT troubleshooting required



Experience troubleshooting hardware/software, resetting passwords, solving application issues, and supporting devices such as desktops, iPhones, and Macs



Familiarity with Microsoft SCCM, Microsoft Intune, and Active Directory



Preferred:

Physical Demands



Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards



Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time, with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.



Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor

$25.00-$30.00/hr

The pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role may also be entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
