The primary mission of the LCEF is to provide financial resources and related services for ministry, witness, and outreach of The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. In so doing it shall raise funds primarily through the issuance of corporate notes and other debt instruments. Its assets shall be used exclusively for the following: To provide financing and services for the acquisition of sites; the construction of facilities; the purchase of buildings and equipment; operating expenses; professional church worker education; the residential housing needs of professional church workers; and other purposes approved by its governing board consistent with the ministry and mission of the Synod under policies approved by the Board of Directors of the Synod.
Reporting Relationships
The Deposit Product Specialist I reports to the Manager, Financial Retail Operations.
Summary
The Deposit Product Specialist I is responsible for processing work associated with retail deposit accounts.
Essential Job Functions
Open and close accounts (deposit accounts).
Maintain withdrawals/deposits for loan escrow accounts.
Process lockbox rejection files daily.
Process requests to update personal information.
Process assigned tickets and respond to questions.
Process auto exchanges, manual exchanges, and auto redemptions.
Balance check register total against banking system.
Take check registers to accounting.
Prepare checks to get out from day before.
Process loan transactions.
Process wire transactions.
Process less complex paperwork associated with deceased customer accounts.
Assist with Trust and Power of Attorney paperwork processing, as assigned.
Assist with deposit transactions, as needed.
Education and Experience
Associate's degree in accounting, business administration or related field.
One year of experience with retail banking operations.
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Knowledge of negotiable instruments, endorsements, collected funds, and check holds.
Strong data entry skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task. Detail oriented with high degree of accuracy.
Ability to work well under pressure and under tight deadlines.
Exercises discretion and judgment in confidential matters.
Ability and desire to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
Learns new skills/information/processes easily and applies new knowledge quickly.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Ability to learn proprietary and non-proprietary software applications.
