Job description:
Treatment Coordinator
Lyon Dental Implants and Oral Surgery - New Hudson, MI
We are a high-performing oral and maxillofacial surgery practice with one goal: to be the best at reconstructing smiles with dental implants. We're looking for an exceptional Treatment Coordinator -- someone who thrives on helping patients say "yes" to life-changing care and making sure every financial, medical, and logistical detail is handled with precision and warmth.
If you love connecting with people, organizing complex details, and working in a team that truly has each other's backs -- this is your role.
About the Role
This is not a front desk position -- it's an independent, high-responsibility role that blends patient communication, financial coordination, and operational excellence. You'll be the point person for case presentation, financing, insurance claims, and surgical readiness. You'll have the autonomy to guide patients toward decisions that align with their goals -- helping them say "yes" to treatment that can transform their confidence and health. At the same time, you'll be part of a tight-knit, cross-trained team where no task is beneath anyone. When phones ring, patients arrive early, or the day gets busy, we all jump in. That's how we stay patient-centered.
Success in this role comes from clear communication, teamwork, self-direction, and the ability to move confidently without constant oversight.
Core Responsibilities
1. Treatment Coordination & Case Presentation
Present comprehensive treatment plans confidently and clearly.
Discuss financial options, payment plans, and prepayment incentives.
Guide patients toward decisions that support their goals and health.
Follow up on all unscheduled treatment -- no patient slips through the cracks.
Track case acceptance and days-to-schedule metrics.
2. Revenue Cycle Management
Submit claims via DSN and FastAttach with complete documentation.
Manage insurance appeals and AOB (Assignment of Benefits) payments.
Handle refunds, payment posting, and maintain near-zero accounts receivable.
Audit payment accuracy and verify write-offs or adjustments.
Coordinate with the Operations Manager on monthly AR and collection reports.
3. Surgical & Medical Coordination
Manage medical clearance requests and follow-through with outside offices.
Coordinate CRNA cases, schedules, and consents.
Ensure all documentation is complete and ready prior to surgical day.
Serve as the communication hub between the surgeon, assistants, and admin team.
4. Teamwork & Office Support
Jump in to assist with phones, check-in, or scheduling as needed.
Collaborate closely with surgical assistants, the surgical coordinator, and operations manager.
Support the team's mission to deliver an unreasonable level of patient-centered care.
5. Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Maintain dashboards for case acceptance, aging claims, and pending clearances.
Propose workflow improvements to keep the practice running efficiently.
Support EOS Level-10 meetings with clear data and accountability.
What We're Looking For
Minimum 2 years in dental or surgical treatment coordination or insurance billing (oral surgery preferred).
Comfortable discussing large-case treatment plans and financing.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Tech-savvy and detail-oriented (DSN, FastAttach, Excel/Sheets, etc.).
Emotionally mature, reliable, upbeat, and team-oriented.
Able to work independently and make sound decisions without micromanagement.
Willing to help wherever needed -- because the patient always comes first.
