Job Overview


We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of dental office operations, medical billing, and electronic health record (EHR) systems. Bilingual abilities and prior dental clinic experience are highly valued to ensure smooth patient interactions and accurate documentation.

Duties



Greet patients and visitors with professionalism and courtesy, maintaining excellent phone etiquette on multi-line phone systems. Schedule appointments using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accurate documentation review and patient information entry. Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and assist with billing processes including medical collection and medical billing procedures. Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including intake forms, data entry, and updating medical records in EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks. Assist with insurance claims submission, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for health information management. Maintain organized filing systems for dental records, medical records, and other administrative documents. Support office management tasks such as appointment reminders, documentation review, and handling patient inquiries efficiently. Ensure the clinic environment remains clean and organized to promote a professional atmosphere.

Skills



Proven experience in a dental office or medical administrative support role with familiarity in dental terminology and office procedures. Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, dental practice management software (Dentrix, Eaglesoft), and EMR/EHR systems (Epic, Meditech). Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security. Ability to perform medical coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and understand medical billing processes. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle patient inquiries professionally over the phone or in person. Bilingual abilities are preferred to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and insurance verification tasks. Experience with hospital or clinic environments is advantageous but not required; clinic experience is preferred. Typing speed of at least 10 key typing; familiarity with office equipment such as multi-line phones and filing systems is essential. Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
