Duties

Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for procedures Assist dentists during a variety of dental treatments including general dentistry, prosthodontics and endodontics Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, while maintaining proper radiation safety protocols Manage patient records using Dentrix to ensure accurate documentation of medical and dental histories Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures Maintain strict infection control practices using aseptic techniques and adhere to HIPAA guidelines for patient privacy Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and coordinating with dental reception staff

Skills

Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting and medical imaging procedures Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and various dental specialties like prosthodontics and endodontics Experience with Dentrix or other dental EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Epic for efficient record keeping and documentation Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient information at all times Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other diagnostic tools Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics Knowledge of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment
