We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring a smooth operation within the dental clinic. This position requires proficiency in various dental practices and technologies, as well as a commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and patient comfort.
Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures.
Prepare and maintain the dental operatory, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
Take digital dental X-rays while adhering to safety standards.
Manage patient records and medical documentation accurately using an EMR systems such as Dentrix or Open Dental.
Conduct patient intake, including taking vital signs and reviewing medical history.
Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions.
Ensure all dental instruments are sterilized and ready for use.
Support the front desk with dental receptionist duties as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries.
Experience
Candidates should possess:
Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred.
Familiarity with medical coding, medical imaging, HIPAA regulations, and infection control practices.
Proficiency in using EMR systems; experience with Dentrix is a plus.
