Duties
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to infection control protocols.
Assist dentist in endodontics by handing instruments and managing materials efficiently.
Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging, ensuring accurate positioning and patient comfort while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
Operate electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix to accurately document patient information, treatment plans, and medical history.
Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance workflow efficiency and patient experience.
Maintain a sterile environment using aseptic techniques and proper infection control practices aligned with OSHA standards.
Support the dental receptionist by managing appointment scheduling, patient check-in/out processes, and answering routine inquiries.
Educate patients on post-treatment care instructions, and upcoming procedures using clear dental terminology.
Support the use of advanced technology such as 3D scanners and other diagnostic tools to aid in comprehensive treatment planning.
Skills
Proficiency with dental software systems including Dentrix Ascend for efficient record keeping.
Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
Experience with X-ray techniques, medical imaging, and 3D scanning technology for accurate diagnostics.
Excellent chairside assisting skills utilizing four-handed dentistry methods for seamless procedure flow.
Familiarity with dental terminology of endodontics,
Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and recognize signs of medical emergencies or complications.
Knowledge of infection control protocols including aseptic technique and sterilization procedures.
Effective communication skills suitable for explaining treatments in understandable terms to patients and their families.
Ability to operate dental equipment safely while maintaining a clean and organized clinic space.
