Duties
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental instruments, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly using infection control protocols and aseptic techniques
Assist dentists during various procedures including restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, orthodontics, and esthetic procedures with chairside assistance and four-handed dentistry techniques
Take X-ray images while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety standards for medical imaging
Manage patient records by updating medical documentation, medical records, and coding procedures accurately within EMR system - Open Dental.
Educate patients on dental terminology, post-treatment care, and oral hygiene practices to promote overall health
Support administrative tasks such as greeting patients as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, and managing medical records with proficiency in Open Dental
Experience
Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry procedures is highly preferred
Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical terminology is essential for success in this role
Hands-on experience with dental assisting techniques including X-ray taking, chairside assisting, and use of 3D scanners is advantageous
Proficiency in Open Dental along with understanding of HIPAA regulations ensures compliance and efficiency is advantageous
