Dental assistant job responsibilities:

Assisting the dentist during dental procedures: This includes handing instruments and materials to the dentist, operating suction devices, and passing necessary equipment during examinations and treatments.

Preparing treatment rooms: Setting up dental instruments, sterilizing and arranging them for easy access, ensuring the room is clean and organized, and preparing patient trays with necessary materials.

Taking and developing dental X-rays: Capturing dental radiographs as directed by the dentist, processing and developing the X-ray films, and ensuring their proper maintenance and storage.

Assisting with patient management: Welcoming and preparing patients for dental procedures, explaining the treatment process, answering their questions, and providing reassurance and support during their visit.

Sterilizing and maintaining instruments: Cleaning and sterilizing dental instruments and equipment, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols, and maintaining proper inventory of supplies.

Performing basic laboratory procedures: This may include tasks such as pouring and trimming dental models, fabricating temporary crowns or orthodontic appliances, and taking impressions of patients\' teeth.

Conducting preliminary patient assessments: Taking patients\' medical history, recording vital signs, and documenting any relevant information to assist the dentist in diagnosing and treating dental conditions.

Maintaining a clean and organized dental practice: Cleaning and disinfecting dental chairs, work surfaces, and treatment areas, ensuring compliance with infection control guidelines, and maintaining a safe and hygienic environment.
