Summary:
Assists Dentist/RDH during examination and treatment of patients.
Administers and abides by company policies.
Regulatory State, HIPAA, and OSHA compliance.
Maintains operatories and makes sure dental supplies are stocked for procedures.
Maintains patient flow and directs the doctor to next operatory of necessity.
It is essential to be flexible, friendly, and work in a team environment. In addition, the Dental Assistant must display excellent communication skills and a commitment to patient care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure quality patient service by providing thorough patient care, effective communication, and personal attention in a gentle, caring manner.
Prepare the treatment rooms, patient records, equipment, and necessary instruments for dental procedures by universal safety precautions and other safety standards.
Provide chairside assistance to the Dentist including but not limited to general and specialty-related procedures.
Take quality radiographs, digital records, digital scans, and dental impressions.
Record accurate and concise patient/treatment information and clinical notes into dental programs as instructed by the Dentist.
Explain to each patient the purpose and process involved in their dental care and reinforce the treatment plan prescribed by the Dentist.
Explain consent in detail, answer patient questions, and obtain patient signatures on necessary consents.
Complete morning huddle forms to prepare for the day.
Perform various laboratory procedures (pouring study models, fabricating bleaching trays, etc.)
Proper sterilization of equipment and maintaining sterilization area.
Support business goals by utilizing schedules effectively and supporting the practice revenue objectives.
Effectively communicate and develop a strong working relationship with the patient.
