Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dental team in various clinical and administrative tasks. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities



Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow through effective chairside assisting techniques. Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use. Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety protocols, including infection control and aseptic techniques. Manage patient records and medical documentation accurately, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Utilize EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for scheduling appointments, managing patient information, and updating medical records. Provide support in pediatric dentistry by creating a comfortable environment for young patients and their families. Monitor vital signs as needed during procedures to ensure patient safety. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Assist with general dentistry tasks including prosthodontics, endodontics, and the use of 3D scanners for imaging. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dental clinic while adhering to infection control protocols.

Skills



Proficient in using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with Epic is a plus. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Experience with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures. Ability to perform medical coding and manage medical records effectively. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices to cater to younger patients' needs. Familiarity with various dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and medical imaging techniques. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients on treatment plans and oral health care. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing patient documentation and clinic operations. Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred but not mandatory. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.54 - $29.55 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
