Responsibilities



Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to infection control protocols. Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring all necessary materials and instruments are readily available. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging technology such as 3D scanners, while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient records by updating medical documentation, medical records, and dental charts accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Provide chairside assistance with aseptic techniques, vital signs measurement, and maintaining a sterile environment during procedures. Educate patients on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions clearly and compassionately. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing the dental receptionist duties, and handling insurance claims with medical coding expertise.

Requirements



Proven experience working in a dental clinic setting with knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and dental assisting procedures. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with Epic is a plus. Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while adhering to safety standards. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding medical documentation and patient confidentiality. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry techniques and experience working with children is preferred. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members including dental hygienists, specialists like prosthodontists or endodontists, and other healthcare professionals. Certification in dental assisting or relevant training in medical terminology; CPR certification is desirable. Ability to maintain aseptic technique, infection control standards, and demonstrate knowledge of medical imaging equipment including 3D scanners. Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
