Job Summary


We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the delivery of high-quality patient care by assisting dentists during procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring a clean and organized clinical environment. This role requires excellent communication skills, knowledge of dental terminology, and proficiency with various dental software systems. Experience in pediatric dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry is highly valued. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in maintaining infection control standards and providing exceptional patient experiences.

Responsibilities



Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and operating dental imaging equipment such as 3D scanners. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic, ensuring accurate documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Take vital signs and medical history to prepare patients for treatment while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA standards. Perform infection control procedures following aseptic techniques to ensure a sterile environment. Provide patient education on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and treatment plans using appropriate dental terminology. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and assisting with billing or coding if necessary. Maintain knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry to assist with procedures involving endodontics, prosthodontics, or pediatrics. Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and infection control guidelines throughout daily operations.

Requirements



Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting; experience with dental assisting is preferred. Proficiency with dental software systems including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic, or similar EMR platforms. Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding practices. Ability to operate X-ray equipment safely and accurately while following radiation safety protocols. Familiarity with infection control procedures and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a sterile environment. Strong understanding of anatomy relevant to dentistry and pediatric dentistry practices is advantageous. Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and collaboration within the dental team. Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Certification in radiography or X-ray certification required; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or endodontics are a plus. Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
