We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring infection control, and maintaining accurate medical documentation. Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments
Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic techniques are followed
Operate and manage electronic health records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic
Take and develop dental X-rays while maintaining proper radiation safety protocols
Record vital signs and medical history information accurately in patient records
Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort
Maintain sterilization standards and infection control procedures in compliance with OSHA guidelines
Educate patients on oral health care instructions and post-treatment care
Manage appointment scheduling as a dental receptionist when needed
Assist with medical imaging procedures including 3D scanning when applicable
Ensure all documentation complies with HIPAA regulations and accurately reflects treatment provided
Requirements
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic setting
Proficiency with Dentrix
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques
Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding practices
Ability to operate X-ray equipment safely and effectively; certification preferred
Strong understanding of anatomy relevant to dentistry and medical imaging techniques including 3D scanners
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members
Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail
