The Dental Accounts Manager for Honeymint Pediatric Dentistry plays a crucial role in overseeing the insurance and financial operations of a dental practice. This position is responsible for managing patient accounts, ensuring accurate billing and collections, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dental terminology and experience with various dental software systems, enabling them to effectively support both the administrative and clinical teams.
Responsibilities
Manage patient accounts, including billing, collections, and payment processing.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
Utilize EMR systems such as OpenDental for accurate medical documentation and record-keeping.
Collaborate with dental staff to streamline office operations and improve patient experience.
Assist in scheduling appointments and coordinating patient care within the clinic.
Provide support in chairside assisting when necessary, including taking vital signs and performing X-ray imaging.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and insurance processes.
Implement infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients.
Conduct medical coding for insurance claims and manage medical records efficiently.
Skills
Proficiency in EMR systems (OpenDental) and understanding of medical documentation practices.
Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures related to general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
Experience with four-handed dentistry techniques and chairside assisting.
Familiarity with medical imaging technologies such as 3D scanners.
Strong understanding of infection control standards within a dental clinic setting.
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, staff, and insurance providers.
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
Previous experience in a dental clinic or similar healthcare setting is preferred.
