Job Description

To operate a 20 ft flatbed delivery truck (under 26,000 lbs) as a Non-Cdl driver for the purpose of delivering and unloading stainless steel pipe ,sheet, plate, and other products. It is further required that the driver thoroughly check orders for accuracy and damage prior to the customer receiving materials. These duties are to be performed in a timely manner daily. Deliveries are made in north Georgia, Atlanta, Athens and other areas up to a 50 to 80 mile radius. Must know how to drive a manual transmission along with automatic.

Shift is: Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm (overtime sometime due to orders) No Weekends

*load material prior to leaving warehouse

make deliver of all products accurately and efficiently
*properly maintain vehicle maintenance

*take vehicle to repair shop as needed

*fuel truck daily

*properly fill out all delivery paperwork

*perform minor maintenance task on vehicle

*operate vehicle with a focus on safety

*treat all customers with the utmost respect and courtesy

*provide excellent customer service

*keep vehicle clean inside and out

*read and adhere to the rules of Federal Transit Authority and Ga. Dept of Public Safety

*assist warehouse staff with loading truck as needed

*perform stocking duties in the warehouse when needed

*communicate effectively orally and in writing to Supervisor

*communicate any mechanical or safety issues with vehicle to Supervisor

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

*must be at least 25 years of age

*must have a valid driver's license

*must be able to pass a DOT Medical exam

*must submit to drug screen and abide by Drugs Don't Work Workplace requirements

*must have 1 year truck delivery experience

must be able to drive a manual transmission
*must have a qualifying MVR for past 3 years with no DUI's and no major accidents in last 5 years

*must have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
