Responsibilities:
  • Enter orders in a timely fashion. Adhere to ordering schedule and strict deadlines for order input
  • Receive and check-in orders swiftly
  • Utilize customer portals and email for entering orders and filing for credits on damaged, mispicked & spoiled items
  • Maintain inventory and participate in inventory counts and per other duties as assigned
  • Receive and stock products using department guidelines for merchandising, rotation, and pricing
  • Keep organized stock in walk-ins and dry storage for ease of use and easy ordering
  • Stay proactive and communicative of any Out-of-Stock product. Look for alternatives and communicate them through the proper channels
  • Stock product received using proper FIFO (First In First Out) techniques to ensure no spoilage
  • Use downtime to help as needed with food preparation and deli orders to keep Deli running smoothly
  • Communicate openly and effectively with leads and managers regarding unforeseen issues with stock
  • Code and file invoices correctly
  • Keep up on pars and change as needed to ensure not too much product is on hand at a time
  • Maintain inventory and participate in inventory counts and per other duties as assigned
  • Attend all department meetings and monitor and help ensure that department area is kept orderly
  • Observe safety and security procedures and report potentially unsafe conditions
Requirements:
  • Experience and specific knowledge of ordering required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
  • Purchasing/inventory management experience
  • Experience in a deli or restaurant
  • Food safety certified by the State strongly preferred
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Committed to providing excellent customer service
  • Must possess a great attitude, solid work ethic
  • Comprehension of simple instructions, recipes, and training materials
  • History demonstrating self-motivation and dependability
  • Work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends

Environment: Work is performed primarily in a grocery store setting with extensive public contact and frequent interruptions.
Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
