About the Position:

Cognitive Capital, LLC seeks Data Science Developer at its facility located at 141 W. Jackson Blvd., Suite 1620, Chicago, IL 60604.

Responsibilities:

Develop processes to collect and analyze data for automated trading systems. Define and implement new procedures as needed for data collection and analysis. Improve process for requesting, parsing, and storing external data from multiple sources. Support and enhance web applications. Support the financial engineers with data and script writing requirements. Develop standardized interfaces between data and trading systems. Develop and maintain documentation and standards. Identify, track, and maintain metrics for trading system operations. Identify and respond to system incidents and problems, including performing troubleshooting procedures and escalating as necessary. Select and implement software tools to support execution and management of procedures. Work with colleagues to identify and develop opportunities to enhance and improve trading system procedures. Hybrid telecommuting permitted; 3 days per week in office required.

Qualifications:

This position requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Statistics, Finance, Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field, plus 3 years of experience as a Data Science Developer, Software Engineer, or related occupation. In the alternative, employer will accept a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Statistics, Finance, Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field, plus 1 year of experience as a Data Science Developer, Software Engineer, or related occupation. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Working with Python scripting for data analysis and manipulation; (2) Utilizing SQL, Postgres, and MySQL to build schemas, and store and retrieve data; (3) Using Linux to develop and run applications; (4) Working with large data sets in Python; and (5) Working with data analysis libraries in Python, including Pandas, matplotlib, scikit-learn, and Tensorflow.

Compensation:

$96,928 per year
