Location: Sheetz Corporate - PITTSBURGH, PA

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:

Responsible for understanding the needs of the business, developing the necessary data governance processes, identifying data assets, developing business glossaries and help the organization easily access data in order to deliver insights. Contributes to the overall Data Strategy as a Data Generalist with the objective of leveraging data to drive business decisions, increase efficiency and enhance employee and customer experiences. Assists in managing Sheetz data assets that include Business Applications, Reports, Key Value Indicators \xe2\x80\x9cKVIs\xe2\x80\x9d and Data Catalog.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (other duties may be assigned) * Collaborate with the Business, Product Teams, Engineering and Data Science to outline Data best practices and ensure followed across departments.

• Implements practical application of Metadata Management and Master Data Management (MDM).
• Continuously monitors data quality through testing, validation and profiling of data assets.
• Identifies data quality issues and leads data cleansing activities to remove defects and improve the trust and accuracy of the data.
• Collaborate across multiple teams to ensure the highest of quality of data is maintained through its lifecycle from creation to consumption.
• Work within organization to implement the Enterprise Data Catalog to develop a business glossary.
• Works with Engineering and Data Science teams, identify data that is needed to deliver a solution and ensure the proper documentation and process for onboarding the data.
• Establishes and modifies Data Governance principles and provides guidance across the organization on implementation.
• Educates the organization on the benefits of strong Data Governance and drives adoption.

REQUIREMENTS: (Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered)

Education

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in a related field with an emphasis in a computer science, statistical, or analytical discipline required.
• Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Business Intelligence, Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science or related field preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a Data Management/Data Governance role required.
• Advanced in SQL and one of either R/Python required.
• Experience implementing and managing an Enterprise Data Catalog required.
• Knowledge of Tableau and/or other data visualization tools preferred.
