Wildfire Defense Systems, Inc. ("WDS") is a Qualified Insurance Resource (QIR) operating the largest private sector wildfire service in the nation, encompassing a 22-state service area and specializing in wildfire education, loss prevention, and wildfire response services. Qualified Insurance Resources are defined as NWCG qualified or equivalent, wildland engines, tenders, hand crews, fire/liaison officers, and personnel working for or contracted by an insurance company with a mission to mitigate impacts on insured structures threatened by wildfire. WDS holds contracts with insurance companies to provide wildfire loss prevention services. WDS fields experienced, highly trained, safety-focused wildfire officers and fire personnel that hold a wide range of Federal Wildfire Incident Command position classifications necessary to meet or exceed all federal wildfire operation standards and codes including all requirements of the National Wildfire Coordinating Group ("NWCG") or equivalent. WDS is capable of providing more than 180 wildland engines and hundreds of fire personnel and support personnel. WDS has served large and small insurance clients since 2008.

Purpose and Scope of Position




The Data Capture Analyst (DCA) is the primary collection position within the Information & Intelligence (I&I) Section of the Field Services Administration Department of the Field Services Division at Wildfire Defense Systems. This position proactively identifies, monitors, and reports wildfires and the actions performed by WDS firefighting response teams. The Data Capture Analyst also regularly serves as a liaison to clients, providing pertinent information to policyholders. Along with mastery of the Seasonal I&I Technician (I&I Tech) responsibilities, the DCA position is a progressive role as an I&I Analyst. The position requires active participation in training development and mentoring of new DCAs.

Organizational Relationship




This position reports to the Information and Intelligence Associate Manager and is within the I&I Section of Field Services Administration Department of Field Services Division.

Duties and Responsibilities



Train and mentor seasonal I&I employees including: Master all I&I Techs functions and complete the Technician Trainer workshop Assess and communicate training progress with mentee and I&I management Mentor I&I Techs throughout the fire season and conduct daily check-ins Publish notices and policyholder actions for I&I Techs providing guidance and feedback Responsible for quality control and assurance of client deliverables Proven competence in all I&I Tech essential functions Successfully performs root cause analysis to identify bottlenecks and create solution pathways Collaborates with Fire Watch, Professional Services, Response Assurance, and other stakeholders on a regular basis to ensure client-facing work products meet or exceed expectations Ability to successfully lead a small group of I&I Techs in daily operations assignments and provide mentorship. Independently solve problems within Operations and develop solutions for stakeholders i.e., Shift Leads, Duty Officers, CRMs, I&I Manager Collaborates with other departments to develop and execute inter-departmental projects Successfully lead a winter improvement project focused on I&I efficiency and innovation Develop analytical projects created in ArcGIS/MS Excel and develop reports to communicate findings Proven software competency, i.e., MS Office Suite, Google Earth, Excel and resource management software platforms Prepare for and attend weekly staff meetings to discuss methods for refining team outputs Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications (i.e. education, certifications, years of experience, etc...)



Completion of an undergraduate program or equivalent experience (B.A. or B.S.) Proven software competency, i.e., MS Office Suite, Google Earth, resource management software platforms, and social media One fire season of experience at Wildfire Defense Systems Exceeds expectations in performance evaluations as an I&I Tech Successful completion of NWCG S-190 course, Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior GIS or data interpretation experience
