Senior Database Engineer

with deep expertise in database design, performance optimization, and data management. In this role, you will play a key part in designing secure, scalable database environments that support enterprise-level applications and cloud initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Implementation:

Architect and manage database systems aligned with evolving business and user requirements.

Performance Monitoring:

Proactively monitor database health, troubleshoot performance issues, and implement optimization strategies.

Data Management:

Develop and maintain schemas, tables, views, and data dictionaries; support data migration and transformation activities.

Backup & Recovery:

Design and execute robust backup and recovery solutions to safeguard against data loss or corruption.

Collaboration:

Partner with developers, system administrators, and analysts to ensure data consistency and support application development efforts.

Security Compliance:

Secure databases against unauthorized access, ensuring adherence to relevant cybersecurity and compliance standards.

Documentation:

Create and maintain clear technical documentation for database architecture, configurations, and performance metrics.
Required Education, Experience & Skills

Bachelor's or Master's degree

preferred in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field Minimum of

16 years

of relevant experience in database engineering or administration Strong experience with

cloud databases

cross-domain solutions

, and

big data platforms

Proficiency in

SQL

and experience with leading database management systems (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server) Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex data problems and system performance issues
Ability to translate business requirements into efficient database designs and queries

Preferred Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree with

10+ years of hands-on data engineering experience

, with recent experience in the last 2 years Alternatively,

15+ years of progressive experience

in enterprise database engineering roles Familiarity with

hybrid cloud architectures
