Title: Data Analytics Summer Associate





The Data Analytics Summer Associate is responsible for supporting the IT Manager and greater team by shaping the company's long-term data management approach and delivering actionable insights through advanced analytics and visualization. This individual will help define a data management strategy that aligns with business goals and supports scalable operations. The role also involves creating impactful dashboards and visualizations by integrating data from multiple sources to inform strategic decision-making. The Data Analytics Summer Associate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements, ensure data integrity, and leverage analytics tools to transform complex datasets into clear, business-driven insights. With strong skills in data modeling, transformation, visualization, and strategic thinking, this role plays a critical part in enhancing user experience, enabling data-driven decisions, and positioning the organization for future growth.





Roles & Responsibilities:


Data Analytics & BI Tools + Dashboarding Tools: Power BI, Salesforce Reports & Dashboards
+ Data Analysis: SQL, Excel (advanced), Python, M, and Dax
+ Data Modeling & ETL: Understanding of data structures, relationships, and transformation processes
+ Data Visualization: Observability and management of core visualization tools
+ Organizational Data Management: Architecture, governance, analytics, and security
Business Requirements Gathering Data Interpretation & Storytelling Agile and Waterfall Methodologies KPI & Metric Design IT & Systems Knowledge + CRM, ERP systems and integrations
+ APIs and web services
+ Cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
+ Microsoft 365 and SharePoint
+ Power Automate
+ Basic networking and cyber security principles
Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned




Skills:


Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage a diverse workload Experience with IT systems, networks, and related technologies Knowledge of best practices in IT administration and system security Exceptional organizational and time management skills Ability to work independently, assist teams, and implement analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to effectively engage with all team members, as well as with outside parties Proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite of products including administration of PowerBI, Power Automate, and Azure platforms

Education & Experience:


Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a degree program Preference for candidate with prior Software Engineering/Development or Data Analysis experience




Travel & Time Commitment:


Full-time hourly non-exempt position. Up to 40 hours/week during our regular hours of operation, 8:30AM - 5:00PM EST (30 min unpaid lunch) 10-12 weeks (June-August), based on candidate availability. Preference for longer commitments




Location: East Point Energy office in Charlottesville, VA
