About the Role


Montecito Bank & Trust is seeking a full-time Data Analyst to join the team in our Marketing Department. As a Data Analyst, you will deliver a World Class Experience by supporting the Senior Data Analyst with data gathering, maintaining existing dashboards, and creating new reports, in addition to various ad-hoc projects. The Data Analyst is passionate about shaping the company's understanding of our clients, solving business challenges, and measuring impact, through data mining and reporting. Challenges could include identifying revenue opportunities and customer acquisition strategies, understanding product performance and profitability and evaluating customer segmentation, satisfaction, and marketing attribution, in addition to ad hoc projects. This position will work closely with the marketing department but will also work extensively with all lines of business to ensure exceptional customer experience and gain feedback from client/associate interactions. You will be located in Santa Barbara, CA with a fully on-site work schedule

What We're Looking For

A college degree, preferably in quantitative discipline (e.g. statistics/mathematics, marketing analytics), preferred. 3-5 years of experience as a data analyst or marketing analytics role required. Minimum of 1 year up to 3 years of experience with Tableau for data visualization and data storytelling required. Minimum of 1 year up to 3 years working in banking/financial services preferred. This position is not that of a data scientist, but rather an analyst that will focus on visualization and storytelling through data to enable stakeholders throughout the bank to gain visibility and insight into all aspects of the Bank. Working knowledge of relational databases and data visualization, as well as a curiosity for market trends and consumer behaviors. The ability to think objectively and independently in a fast-paced environment.

Your Responsibilities


The essential functions of this role include, but are not limited to:

Querying assorted databases to create analysis-ready data sets; including data acquisition from various sources, integration, quality control, etc. Contribute to the definition, creation, and centralization of reporting dashboards for use by departments throughout the Bank. Present data insights and potential solutions to teams throughout the Bank. Support the Senior Data Analyst in acquiring and analyzing client research (demographic, behavioral, and attitudinal), industry analysis, market trends, economic forecasts, and competitive activity. Assist in evaluating opportunities to improve data collection and other strategies to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
