Job Details:

The Strategic Data Analyst supports data-driven decision-making to enhance operational efficiency and organizational performance. This role blends financial analysis with operational insight to inform strategy, optimize resource use, and drive improvements across clinical, administrative, and support functions. Working closely with Finance, Operations, Clinical Services, and Executive Leadership, the analyst delivers actionable insights that align with organizational goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Operational & Financial Analysis

Analyze trends in cost, resource use, and performance across departments to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities. Support budgeting and forecasting processes, integrating financial and operational data to inform planning. Develop models to assess the impact of strategic and operational initiatives (e.g., service expansions, staffing changes, capital projects). Prepare business cases and support decision-making for partnerships, investments, and grant proposals.

Data Analytics & Reporting

Extract, transform, and analyze data from systems including EHRs, ATS, payroll, and financial platforms. Build and maintain dashboards and reports using tools like Excel, Strata, Lawson, and Power BI. Track key metrics (e.g., cost per patient, utilization, staffing ratios) and highlight variances and performance trends.

Strategic & Operational Support

Present findings and recommendations to clinical and operational leaders in support of initiatives such as value-based care, workforce planning, and care model innovation. Guide departments in resource allocation and performance improvement based on data insights. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align operational activities with strategic goals.

Compliance & Risk Monitoring

Ensure data integrity and adherence to regulations including HIPAA. Monitor financial and operational KPIs, flagging risks and deviations from plan.

Position Requirements and Qualifications

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Data Analytics, Healthcare Administration, or related field (Master's preferred). 3-5+ years of experience in financial or data analysis, ideally within healthcare. Understanding of healthcare finance (e.g., DRGs, RVUs, value-based care models).

Skills:



Advanced Excel and experience with SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools. Proficiency in financial modeling and working with healthcare data systems (e.g., Epic, Strata, Lawson). Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.



Posted Salary Range: USD $79,250.00 - USD $102,000.00 /Yr. :

This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
