Data Analyst (Contract) -- Snowflake + SQL

Location:

North Chicago, IL (Onsite)

Duration:

12 months (extendable)

Role Summary

Hands-on

Data Analyst

with

expert SQL

and

Snowflake

to drive requirements, analyze data for new IT projects, and translate findings into clear specs, process flows, and test plans. Must be an excellent communicator who can

facilitate meetings

and collaborate across business and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

Lead

data analysis

using advanced SQL (profiling, mining, validation, KPI definitions). Build and optimize

Snowflake

queries/objects to support new initiatives.

Facilitate requirement sessions

; gather and document

functional requirements

and user stories. Create

business process flows / process maps

; apply

business process design

techniques. Perform

gap analysis

(current vs. future state) and articulate client needs. Plan and execute

performance

and

integration testing

with clear test cases. Author

functional specifications

for features of varying complexity. Prepare data for analysis (cleaning, enrichment), and

visualize results

for stakeholders. Contribute to

project planning

(task sizing, dependencies, milestones) for your workstream.
Must-Have Qualifications

Advanced SQL

and

hands-on Snowflake

. Strong analytical/problem-solving skills; comfort with ambiguous datasets.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication

skills. Proven ability to

run/facilitate workshops and requirement sessions

. Experience documenting

functional requirements

Nice to Have

Exposure to

data lake / data warehouse

environments. Experience with

reporting/BI tools

(e.g., QlikView, Cognos; Tableau/Power BI also welcome). Basics of ELT frameworks (dbt, Airflow) or scripting (Python) are a plus.
Education

Bachelor's in Information Systems, Computer Science, Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Pay: $55.00 - $65.00 per hour
