We are seeking a passionate and experienced Dance Teacher to inspire students of all ages in our vibrant dance community. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various dance styles, including ballet and theater, and possess the ability to develop engaging curricula that foster creativity, technical skill, and confidence. This role offers an opportunity to work with children, adults, and special education students, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes childhood development and early childhood education.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive dance curricula tailored to different age groups and skill levels, including ballet, theater dance, and adult education classes.
Plan engaging lesson plans that incorporate classroom management techniques, behavior management strategies, and innovative teaching methods.
Teach dance techniques while fostering a supportive atmosphere that encourages students' artistic growth and confidence.
Manage classroom dynamics effectively, ensuring safety and discipline during lessons.
Adapt teaching approaches for students with special needs or those requiring additional support in childhood development or preschool settings.
Incorporate creative elements such as photography or sewing projects related to dance performances when appropriate.
Organize performances or showcases to highlight student progress and boost motivation.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and assessments for all students.
Collaborate with parents, caregivers, or educational staff to support student success and address individual needs.
Qualifications
Proven experience in teaching dance styles such as ballet, theater dance, or other movement arts.
Strong background in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management.
Experience working with children of various ages, including preschoolers and early childhood education settings.
Familiarity with behavior management techniques and childhood development principles.
Ability to adapt teaching methods for students with special education needs or those requiring additional support.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to foster a positive learning environment.
