Empowerment & Economic Advancement:
We work to address the unique needs of those living in poverty and strive for outcomes that increase emotional and economic self-sufficiency. We provide women with economic empowerment programs annually with our GEMS, Women's Residence, Childcare Programs, and more.
YWCA also has an ongoing commitment - truly, a mandate of our mission - to provide leadership development opportunities to our community.
Health & Wellness:
We provide over 7,500 children and families with health and wellness programs annually with our Aquatics Programs, Gymnastics Programs, Courthouse and Supervised Visitation Programs, Services for People with Developmental Disabilities, Health Resources and more.
Justice:

Job Summary
We're rebuilding a movement -- literally and figuratively. The YWCA is re-energizing our Activity Center and expanding adult and senior wellness offerings, and we're searching for dynamic
dance instructors
who bring both talent and purpose.

Key Responsibilities
Lead 30-60 minute dance classes (styles may include Tap, Zumba, Hip-Hop, Line Dance, Ballet)
Arrive 15 minutes early to set up the space and welcome members; begin and end class on time
Create and deliver lesson plans aligned with class goals and YWCA programming themes
Provide clear, safe instruction with progressions and modifications for different abilities, ages, and mobility levels
Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming studio, including sanitizing equipment and resetting the room
Track attendance and support class growth goals
Model an inclusive, encouraging culture that builds confidence and celebrates movement at all levels
Actively engage members before/after class to build relationships and community
Support program promotion -- at least two touchpoints each month (social media post/story, member outreach, tabling, referrals, etc.)
Participate in staff meetings, wellness events, and seasonal launch days
Essential Experience
High School Diploma required, some level of college education preferred.
Minimum
1 year experience
teaching group dance classes (community or studio setting)
Background in fitness (athletics, sports, dance, cheer, gymnastics, exercise science, kinesiology, or related field).
Strong choreography and class-leading skills with energy that inspires participation
Experience working with older adults and/or diverse mobility levels preferred
Commitment to accessible instruction and trauma-aware practice
Excellent communication and customer-service skills
Licensing and/or Certifications:
Group fitness or dance certification preferred (AFAA, ACE, NASM, Zumba, or equivalent) or willingness to obtain within 90 days.
CPR/First Aid required within first 60 days.

with some evenings/weekends for special classes
Compensation:
$30-$40 (hourly rate)
