River Edge offers outpatient services at our Emery Highway-Macon, Monroe County and Baldwin County locations. Outpatient services include behavioral health, nursing, and psychiatric assessment, stabilization and medication maintenance services as well as crisis intervention services as well as awareness, education and recovery groups.



Behavioral Health Technician (IDD) at the Oconee Center

In addition, River Edge offers services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking Behavioral Health Technician - IDD - to join our team in making a difference in the lives of our patients every day. We are in the heart of Middle Georgia State where we enjoy abundant recreational opportunities, and a family friendly environment with good schools and opportunities for the entire family to be involved.



The Behavioral Health Technician - IDD cares for people who have disabilities, chronic illnesses, cognitive impairments, or age-related problems. He or she provides social interaction and companionship for patients in various healthcare settings under the direction of a licensed professional.



Location/Schedule - 1241 Orchard Hill Road, Milledgeville, GA - This available schedule is for full-time and part-time shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

Complies with Oconee policies/procedures Comply with client facility nursing policies/procedures Maintains confidentiality relative to patient services and facility practices in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Communicates information effectively to appropriate personnel. Provides companionship services, such as sitting with patient or reading to patient

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required At least six months of work experience as a sitter/companion in a healthcare setting. Experience in Behavioral Health Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered

Knowledge & Skills

Must be self-started and work independently. Must be able to perform assignments with minimal supervision. Must be able to comprehend and perform oral and written instructions and procedures. Must have effective comprehensive reading skills, strong communication skills, written and verbal.
