Dakota State University is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst to strengthen our enterprise security posture and defend against evolving cyber threats. If you thrive on solving complex security challenges and want to make an impact in a mission-driven environment, we want you on our team.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor security events, investigate suspicious activity, and respond to incidents with root-cause analysis.
• Review systems and applications for vulnerabilities and security flaws.
• Apply threat intelligence to optimize security controls and tool configurations.
• Ensure secure handling of API keys, authentication tokens, and encryption practices.
• Implement and manage Identity and Access Controls across the enterprise environment.
• Fine-tune EDR detection policies and response actions.
• Align security programs with best-practice frameworks such as NIST, CIS Controls, and Zero Trust.
• Conduct security assessments and audits, documenting gaps and mapping them to risk levels.
• Analyze system logs to identify indicators of compromise and escalate actionable threats.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field is preferred.
• Network security principles and secure network architecture
• Operating system internals (Windows, Linux, macOS)
• Cloud security models (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Identity and Access Management (IAM), SSO, MFA
• Encryption, PKI, certificates, and secure protocols
• Application and API security fundamentals
• Zero Trust architecture principles
