The Teff Company has a diverse clientele base, including Ethiopian and Eritrean store owners and restauranteurs. Teff is best known as the primary ingredient in injera, a fermented flat bread, but we are continuing to explore different applications for this tasty, nutritious, and versatile ancient grain. You'll be joining an entrepreneurial, family-owned company working to deliver high quality teff and teff-based products to consumers and manufacturers in the United States.
Overview:
The position of Customer Relations Representative performs a variety of important customer-focused responsibilities and is essential in helping coordinate customer support activities within The Teff Company.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Provide exceptional customer service experience for all customers
Respond to customer incoming inquiries in a timely, friendly and professional manner
Develop and maintain knowledge and familiarity of all products
Identify customers' needs, clarify information, and provide solutions and/or alternatives
Create, process and manage sales orders, invoices, payments and returns
Coordinate scheduling orders and shipments with Production and Logistics Teams
Document customer complaints in CRM and drive to resolution according to service level targets
De-escalate situations involving dissatisfied customers, offering patient assistance and support
Collaborate with Marketing and Sales to process sample orders and facilitate marketing event transaction entry
Manage, maintain and organize multiple email accounts daily effectively and efficiently
Contribute to maintenance of customer data
Route calls and emails as necessary to appropriate team members
Other tasks and duties as assigned
Skills and Experience:
1-2 year's customer service experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong phone contact handling skills
Customer orientation and ability to adapt and respond to different types of personalities
Experience working in a multi-lingual, multi-cultural environment; Amharic language skills a plus
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
Ability to work well independently and within a team
A patient and empathetic attitude
Self-motivated, curious and comfortable with ambiguity typical of a small, growing company
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with ERP/CRM systems preferred
College degree preferred

Compensation and Benefits:
The Teff Company offers a competitive hourly rate. We provide three weeks' paid time off to start (PTO); PTO then increases based on years of service.
