Job Summary -
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Phone Customer Intake Representative to handle inbound calls for our Utility Weatherization Program. This role involves assisting customers in determining their eligibility, explaining available weatherization services, collecting necessary information, coordinating subcontractors, making referrals to outside agencies, and scheduling assessments. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated phone communication skills, empathy, accuracy and the ability to guide customers through the intake process efficiently
Key Responsibilities:
Answer inbound calls related to the weatherization program and assist customers with their inquiries
Provide clear and accurate information about weatherization services, eligibility requirements, and the application process
Screen callers for initial eligibility based on household income, property ownership, and other program guidelines
Collect and enter customer data accurately into the system, ensuring all required
documentation is noted
Schedule assessments or follow-ups with energy auditors as needed
Address customer concerns and provide excellent service to ensure a positive experience
Maintain confidentiality and comply with all utility and program regulations.
Work collaboratively with staff co-workers and field crews to facilitate efficient service delivery
Perform follow-up calls to customers regarding their application status or additional requirements
Preferred qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Previous experience in customer service, call center operations, retail or intake processing preferred
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex information clearly
Ability to handle calls while maintaining professionalism and accuracy
Proficiency in data entry and familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM)software - Excel, SalesForce
Empathy and patience when interacting with diverse customer populations, including low-income and elderly individuals and people in crisis
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of weatherization programs, energy efficiency, or utility services is not required (training provided)

Must be able to pass drug testing and Federal/State/County background checks
