Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Service Dispatcher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating transportation logistics, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery. This position requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in various transportation management systems. The Service Dispatcher will be responsible for managing the flow of information between drivers and clients while utilizing advanced tools such as GIS and GPS to optimize routes and enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Coordinate daily dispatch operations by assigning routes to drivers based on real-time data and customer needs. Utilize GIS and GPS technologies to monitor vehicle locations, optimize routing, and ensure timely deliveries. Manage transportation planning and logistics to streamline operations and improve service quality. Maintain accurate records of shipments, including shipping & receiving documentation and data entry tasks. Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal teams using multi-line phone systems to address inquiries and resolve issues. Analyze transportation data to identify trends, inefficiencies, or areas for improvement within the supply chain. Collaborate with fleet management to ensure vehicle maintenance schedules are adhered to. Work with Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine systems for efficient dispatching processes. Provide support for third-party logistics (3PL) operations as needed.

Qualifications

Proven experience in dispatching or a related field within transportation management. Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess data effectively for decision-making purposes. Proficiency in using transportation management systems (TMS) including Oracle Transportation Management, AS400, or similar software. Familiarity with logistics principles, freight handling, and supply chain processes. Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members. Typing proficiency for accurate data entry tasks in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting while managing multiple priorities efficiently.
