Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in various facilities, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for all occupants. This role requires a proactive approach to cleaning and maintenance tasks, with a focus on delivering high-quality service in commercial, industrial, and residential settings.

Duties

Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming to maintain cleanliness in assigned areas. Conduct floor care activities such as buffing and waxing to ensure surfaces are well-maintained. Assist with facilities maintenance tasks as needed, including minor repairs and upkeep of equipment. Ensure proper disposal of waste and recycling materials in compliance with health and safety regulations. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; report any shortages or maintenance needs promptly. Collaborate with team members to ensure all areas are cleaned efficiently and effectively. Respond to custodial requests from staff or management in a timely manner. Uphold high standards of cleanliness in both public and private spaces, including restrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas.

Experience

Previous experience in commercial cleaning or custodial services is preferred but not required. Familiarity with industrial cleaning techniques and equipment is a plus. Experience in facilities maintenance or residential painting can be beneficial. Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain cleanliness standards consistently. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team; strong communication skills are essential. Knowledge of safe handling procedures for cleaning chemicals and materials is preferred.
