Job Description

The Curriculum Support Specialist supports the activities of the school. These activities are directly related to the tracking of student achievement and student data that provides information regarding academic decisions for students. This position works directly with the career and college specialist, counselor, data secretary, counseling secretary, certificated staff, office manager, administrators and custodial staff regarding testing environments and storage of student work and assessments. This position supports building, district and state initiatives. This position requires high levels of organization, commitment to deadlines, clear communication and collaboration.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Testing Coordination - Lead the organization/scheduling, proctoring, ordering of exams, and Communication with students, staff and parents/guardians for Smarter Balance Assessment (SBA), Course Assessments, ELL, AP/IB/Cambridge, BYU/Credit Retrieval Proctoring, PSAT/SAT, Competency, and all other mandatory assessments
+ New Student Assessment - Proctor, support scoring, and communicate achievement to counseling dept., parents/guardians, staff, and students
+ Assessment Data - track student requirements and reporting the counseling staff communicating to parents/guardians and student.
+ Assessment Liaison - Communicates and coordinates with the Assessment Department (at the ESC) to provide trainings for building, requests charts and graphs, etc.
+ Coordinate with the state on students participating in Alternative SBA/Collection of Evidence
+ Create, maintain, track and interpret databases
+ Assist with parent evening events
+ Assist with Academic Celebrations and Events

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:



+ Perform related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.
+ Remain current on new developments in the technology hardware and software industry
+ Remain current with State Rules and Regulations related to SBA assessment.



REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:



Education and Experience



Associate of Arts Degree in related field



ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:



Proficient in Excel spreadsheets

Positive evaluations



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:



Three (3) years of school-based experience

Bachelor's degree



CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT:



Criminal background clearance

Washington Driver's License

Work scheduled hours on a consistent basis



KNOWLEDGE OF:



School board policies and procedures

Microsoft Office

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently sit, stand and walk, bend neck and back, squat, kneel, and use hands for fine manipulation and repetitive grasping and pushing/pulling. The employee will occasionally be required to climb stairs/ladder, lift and reach overhead, and lift/carry. The employee must constantly lift/carry up to 5 lbs and must frequently lift/carry up to 10 lbs and occasionally lift/carry a maximum of 35 lbs. The employee is occasionally required to push/pull a maximum force of 100 lbs.



WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in indoor conditions and intermittently works near video display. The employee is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Position is occasionally exposed to angry, frustrated individuals, typically in a school classroom environment.



WORK SCHEDULE:



This position works 201 days per school year with a flexible workday for evening and weekend events. Work schedules may vary depending on specific needs; each school site will determine the work calendar.



REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:



Position reports directly to, and is evaluated by the Principal or building designee with input from counselors.

Level B on the Prof-Tech Salary Schedule
