Job Description

Assists the C-Store Manager & the Director of F&B in the day to day operation of the C-Store and kitchen operation. Additional duties include ordering and stocking of supplies, general organization, and rotation of products.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND Responsibilities:



Supervises, directs, assists, monitors performance and ensures the completion of tasks assigned to team members while maintaining quality and standards Responsible for assisting with the hiring and development of personnel while ensuring an adequate level of labor is used to perform the required level of service Understands and administers performance appraisals, sets performance expectations and provides coaching and operational support for all staff Takes daily, weekly and end of the month inventory of coolers and dry storage areas Responsible for daily ordering while maintaining inventory controls Reviews daily and monthly menus and if necessary orders product in advance of daily production Stocks and rotates product daily using "First In, First Out" practices Ensures products that are past expiration dates are not used in production. Maintains expenses at budgeted levels, while producing a quality product Responsible for the efficient utilization of all products to facilitate a lower department cost Organizes and cleans storage areas to include dry, chemical, refrigerator and freezer areas Maintains a consistent high level of food quality and guest services Maintains cleanliness of areas and ensuring sanitation policies and procedures are strictly followed Ensures all kitchen equipment is in proper working order, takes appropriate action if repairs are needed Communicates problems or variances to the C-Store Manager Must complete financial analysis and reports as assigned May be involved in cash transactions, either as a breaker or as a replacement for the regularly scheduled cashier, during day-to-day activity Adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies in an ethical manner and encourages others to do the same Other duties as assigned by C-Store Manager & the Director of F&B

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:



Required


High school graduate or GED Ability to operate a computerized Point of Sale system/cash register Knowledge of kitchen sanitation, operations, and maintenance of kitchen equipment Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook Professional appearance as outlined in the Prairie Band Casino & Resort Team Member Handbook Must be able to work both independently and as a member of the C-Store team A record of satisfactory performance and reliability in all prior and current employment Excellent interpersonal, customer service, communication, team building and problem solving abilities, required

Preferred


Two years of college 1 year of prior supervisory experience Knowledge of Retail costs Proven track record in quality, productivity and presentation Ability to analyze financial information and arrive at the correct conclusions

PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:



Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English Must be able to stand for long periods of time (7-8 hours) Must be able to lift and carry upwards of 50 pounds Operate in mentally and physically stressful situations Able to tolerate extreme temperatures Possess coordination and dexterity to use kitchen utensils, such as knives, spatulas, food tongs Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, crouch, kneel, push, and pull when rotating stock and cleaning work area Able to operate the following kitchen equipment: microwaves, ovens, and other utensils when preparing food orders Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, crouch, kneel, push, and pull when rotating stock and cleaning work area No known allergic reaction to cleaning chemicals Must be willing to work required schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays and extended hours
