Job Description

Job Summary:

Elliott Oil Company is currently seeking a C-Store Manager who will manage the daily operations of the convenience store. The C-Store Manager will manage the day to day store operations, including scheduling, training, and supervising employees. The manager is responsible for the store profits, and controllable expenses such as labor, inventory levels, and cash and inventory shortages.

Responsibilities and duties (what you'll do):

Supervise and direct activities of all store employees

o Operates within established inventory levels and salary budgets to achieve maximum profitability.

Ensure that there is excellent customer service

o Provide courteous and prompt resolution of employee and/or customer issues

o Attract new customers and retain current customers

Conduct onboarding; hiring, training, and development to ensure effective store operations

Analyze sales figures and forecast future sales

o Maintain awareness of market trends in the retail industry and monitor what local competitors are doing

Ensure Elliott Oil Company's high standards of cleanliness are met

Maintain safety and security of the store; promptly and accurately documenting issues

Supports, upholds, and enforces all company policies, and compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations

Perform computer entry and paperwork

o Create and submit daily store reports and proper entry of invoices into system

o Perform retail management duties, including; store opening and closing, cash handling, reconciliation, and payroll.

Qualifications and skills (what we're looking for):

High school diploma or GED required.

3 years' store management/supervisory experience.

Proven success with inventory management.

Sales oriented and results driven.

Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.

Able to work in a fast paced environment and exercise sound judgment and discretion.

Elliott Oil is also a petroleum supplier and distributor in 5 states (Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Kansas). In 1991, the company established and has since operated Elliott Transport, Inc., a fuel transportation business, delivering petroleum products to retail, commercial and industrial customers. In 2008, the company diversified and established Elliott Bulk Services, LLC - a tank wagon and lubricant distribution business hauling fuel and supplying local Iowa farmers and commercial customers with their fuel and lubricant needs.
