JOB SUMMARY

Central Raw Receiving (CRR) Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the efficient and organized receipt of potato shipments at a food processing facility. This role involves managing a team of workers, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring that all potatoes meet quality standards. The CRR Supervisor plays a crucial role in maintaining the flow of raw materials for potato processing. The CRR Supervisor will work to ensure employee safety, food safety, sanitation, and cleaning requirements are met in accordance with all federal, state, and customer regulations, as well as McCain Foods\' own food safety and sanitation guidelines. The CRR Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the CRR Department, managing a team of employees.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and supervise a team of employees in CRR.
  • Schedule and assign tasks to ensure smooth operations.
  • Provide training to new team members and ongoing development for existing staff.
  • Foster a positive and safety-conscious work environment.
  • Coordinate and oversee the unloading of potato shipments from suppliers.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure the quality and quantity of received potatoes meet company standards.
  • Verify documentation, including packing lists and delivery receipts.
  • Collaborate with the quality control team to address any discrepancies or quality issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of received potatoes and update inventory systems.
  • Monitor stock levels and communicate to address shortages or overages.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers regarding delivery schedules and quality expectations.
  • Work closely with other departments, such as production, maintenance and quality control, to ensure a seamless flow of materials.
  • Enforce safety protocols during the receiving process.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions for the receiving team.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in the receiving area.
  • Implement efficiency measures to streamline operations and reduce costs.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and technology advancements in potato receiving.
  • Conduct daily inspections to evaluate cleanliness and physical condition of facility, and initiate reports or requests for repairs, improvements, and other maintenance needs.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, ensuring effective information dissemination and documentation.
  • Regularly plan and schedule assignments for the CRR Team.
  • Conduct annual evaluations of direct report employees.
  • Complete and maintain training documentation in a timely manner.
  • Exhibit initiative and sound judgment in problem-solving and addressing issues.
  • Work efficiently with minimal supervision and be available for all shifts and weekend work as needed.
  • Adhere to and promote quality concepts and techniques, ensuring a high-quality operation.
  • Promote and enforce company safety regulations, processes, and procedures.
  • Foster a strong teamwork environment within the work group, factory, and company as a whole.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement processes, including the MDI process.
  • Undertake other projects and duties as assigned or required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education
  • Associate degree or equivalent training and experience is strongly preferred
Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics or related fields is a plus.
  • Previous supervisory experience is required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with SAP is advantageous.
  • Ability to write clear and concise reports, documents, and procedures.
  • Excellent time management skills to effectively plan work schedules and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of HACCP preparation and procedures.
  • Ability to comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, and regulatory requirements, including chemical labels and OSHA guidelines.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to convey information clearly, professionally, and effectively.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
  • As a member of the Leadership Team at the facility, your participation in the continuous improvement process is expected. This includes taking an active role in process improvement initiatives, employee training, and upgrading your current skill base.
ADDITIONAL TRAINING
  • The CRR Supervisor will attend training sessions as required to improve and develop skills that will improve employee relations, productivity, and efficiency.
SCOPE OF AUTHORITY

  • The incumbent will be required to work from a McCain office or facility location and may travel as business needs require (the mission of the organization may sometimes take them to non-standard workplaces).
