As a Critical Environment Technician (CET) in Microsoft\xe2\x80\x99s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) team, you will help to maintain the critical infrastructure that keeps our datacenters up and running. This could be anything from performing basic monitoring and inspection, performing various types of maintenance, participating in equipment troubleshooting, enforcing all safety and security requirements, and developing methods of operating procedures (MOPs) and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

As a CO+I Critical Environment Technician, you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft\'s online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. • Perform assigned basic tasks (e.g., making rounds, recording building observations, taking measurements) with varying levels of supervision.
• Under varying levels of supervision, you will perform basic monitoring and inspection of critical environment-related facility equipment (e.g., controls, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning [HVAC], mechanical systems), building, and grounds for unsafe or abnormal conditions.
• Learn how to operate all systems and equipment in a safe and professional manner and learn about all risks associated with these systems.
• Utilize internal computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to track all equipment assets and to complete work order requests for maintenance work.
• Safely assist in providing emergency monitoring and response to various abnormal conditions with supervision following emergency operating procedures (EOPs).
• Perform various types of maintenance (e.g., planned, predictive, corrective) as assigned following methods of procedure (MOPs), and standard operating procedures (SOPs) under supervision where needed.
• Document tasks/issues found in maintenance and troubleshooting for follow up as needed and escalate as appropriate.
• Provide necessary escorts for third-party contractors, sub-contractors, vendors, and service providers on site based on the appropriate severity-level procedures.
• Understand, follow, and ensure safety and security requirements (e.g., job hazard assessments [JHAs], environmental health and safety (EH&S), toolbox talks), and business processes and procedures to properly perform work in a safe, quality, and reliable manner in accordance with applicable federal, state, local, and Microsoft requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• Completed High/Secondary School, GED, an apprenticeship/vocational qualification, or equivalent.
• 3+ years work/applied learning experience in mechanical, manufacturing, automotive, electrical, controls, datacenter, or related fields

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
• Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of U.S. citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local United States government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of mission critical servics work/applied learning experience (e.g. high availability assembly/manufacturing/critical infrastructure environments such as data centers, oir and gas regineries, hospitals, pharmaceutical, manufacturing or related fields)

Critical Environment Ops ATR-B - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $20.50 - $32.40 per hour. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $27.00 - $34.80 per hour.

Critical Environment Ops ATR-C - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $26.00 - $46.15 per hour.There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $36.00 - $50.70 per hour.
