Job Description

DESCRIPTION

Amazon Studios is the movies and television development and production arm of Amazon. It is our role to produce original content and license studio programs worldwide in exclusive service of Amazon\'s SVOD (Prime Video), AVOD (Freevee), and FAST (Channels) customers.

Amazon Studios\' Original Content for Prime Video is available to global Prime members, bringing customers our critically-acclaimed Amazon Original Series and Movies such as Coming 2 America, Rihanna\'s Savage x Fenty, The Boys, Wheel of Time, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, The Underground Railroad, and Tom Clancy\'s Without Remorse and Jack Ryan; hit Local Originals from around the world including Made in Heaven, Mirzapur and The Family Man from India; The Grand Tour from the UK; and LOL: Last One Laughing (now available in Italy, India, France. Now available in more than 240 countries and territories, Prime Video offers customers the broadest selection of any on-demand video service, including Germany, Mexico, and more); plus exclusives and live sports.

Amazon Freevee (formerly known as IMDb TV) launched in 2019 as a free, streaming, ad-supported video on demand (AVOD) service replete with a library of licensed content that enabled customers to watch hit TV shows, top Hollywood movies and more without purchasing a subscription. Amazon Studios\' creative leadership of Freevee - both for licensed content and its push into Originals - complements the Prime Video offering.

Amazon Freevee offers viewers compelling Originals in an ad-supported environment, including Bosch: Legacy, the spinoff of the Prime Video drama series Bosch; the Emmy-winning court program Judy Justice; the comedy series Sprung; the reality series Hollywood Houselift with Jeff Lewis; rom-com feature Love Accidentally; music documentary Post Malone: Runaway; spy thriller Alex Rider; Australian crime drama Troppo; and the sports docuseries UNINTERRUPTED\'s Top Class: The Life and Times of the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers. Combined with an always updating library of broadly appealing hit movies and TV shows across a wide selection of genres, a catalog of more than 100 FAST channels, and now available in the UK and Germany, Freevee delivers customers the content they would expect to see on a paid service.

The AVOD Original Content & Programming team at Amazon Studios is shaping the future of digital video entertainment. Our mission is to build earth\'s most customer-centric premium ad-supported video services, free and convenient for hundreds of millions of customers to enjoy. We are seeking seeking a Creative Head of 1P and Exclusive FAST Channels who can build on our early success, pioneer new programs for customers, and help define our future as we expand our channel offerings for customers.

We are looking for a strategic, creative, savvy, and analytical digital content media executive to lead creative strategy, development, licensing, and programming for our 1P and Exclusive Channels Business. Reporting to the Head of AVOD Original Content & Programming, this individual will work in a highly collaborative environment, and be responsible for key aspects of the business including defining the content strategy, working within a team to negotiate deals with content partners and collaborating with marketing to drive customer and engagement growth.

In addition to strong creative skills, a background handling complex negotiations, and experience with content rights and value, the ideal candidate is a data-driven critical thinker who has an attention to detail, an ability to juggle multiple priorities, is cool under pressure, and isn\'t afraid to roll sleeves up as needed. This individual must have experience in working with US and international content owners, negotiating agreements at a high volume, developing new business models, delivering results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and a deep understanding of the global content landscape. This individual must have the ability to clearly and concisely communicate thoughts and ideas, both written and verbally, and think outside of one\'s direct sphere of responsibility. This position is ideally located in the US (NYC or LA).
