Delaware Crane is a locally owned and operated crane company. We are growing and looking to expand our team. We operate primarily in Sussex County and surrounding areas.

Job Title: Crane Operator

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Crane Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating a 60 ton or 45 ton crane to swing trusses for new homes and tree work. The role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate a 60 ton Manitex or 45 ton Peterbuilt crane in a safe and efficient manner.
Inspect cranes and equipment before and after use to ensure proper functioning.
Load, lift, and place materials and equipment according to site plans and instructions.
Follow site safety protocols and comply with OSHA regulations and company policies.
Communicate with riggers and signalers using hand signals or radios to safely move loads.
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on crane equipment as needed.
Maintain detailed logs of operations, inspections, and maintenance.
Assist with other construction or site duties when crane work is not required.

Qualifications:

CDL and Valid Crane Operator Certification (NCCCO) required.
Minimum 2 years of experience operating cranes in a construction or industrial environment.
Strong understanding of load charts, rigging practices, and lifting procedures.
Ability to read and interpret site plans, blueprints, and lift plans.
Excellent communication and coordination skills.
Commitment to safety and compliance with regulations.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions.

This is a full time local position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 50 per week
