Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Crane Inspector/WHE (Weight Handling Equipment) Technician to join our team. This role involves inspecting, maintaining, and repairing a variety of heavy machinery and equipment, ensuring safety, compliance, and optimal operation. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical knowledge, experience with heavy equipment, and the ability to interpret schematics and OEM specifications. Responsibilities

Perform inspections and certifications of cranes and WHE following NAVFAC P-307 and other applicable standards. Document inspection results and maintain accurate records of equipment status and compliance. Identify and report safety hazards, mechanical issues, and non-compliance findings. Coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule and verify corrective actions. Ensure all inspections are completed within required timeframes and meet quality standards. Support training and guidance for crane operators and maintenance personnel regarding inspection protocols.

Skills

High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 5 years of experience inspecting cranes or similar heavy equipment. Thorough knowledge of NAVFAC P-307 and other relevant inspection standards. Strong attention to detail and documentation skills. Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with technical teams. Must have demonstrable experience with 120, 240, and 480 volt crane electrical systems, with a good working knowledge and understanding of the applicable NEC requirements and standards. Preferred Qualifications Certification as a Crane Inspector from a recognized authority. Experience with MAXIMO or similar maintenance management systems.
