We are seeking a Child Protective Services (CPS) hotline support staff to join our Child Welfare team in Salem.

What you need to qualify:

Two years of general clerical experience, one year of which included typing, word processing, or other experience generating documents.

OR

An associate degree.

OR

Graduation from a private school of business with a certificate AND one year of general clerical experience.

A valid driver license and acceptable driving record are necessary for this position.

Essential attributes:

We are looking for candidates with:

Demonstrated experience conducting work that requires attention to detail.

Experience handling confidential information (example: credit card information; employment information, medical records, etc.).

Experience navigating Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and different basic computer software.

The ability to work with frequent interruptions and distractions.

Your duties at a glance:

As an employee working within the , you will have an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Oregon\xe2\x80\x99s most vulnerable children and families. Your dedication will help us achieve the Child Welfare that will support children and young adults to be safer, healthier, experience less trauma and achieve a greater well-being.

As a CPS hotline support staff, you will be:

Answering calls, determining their nature, and directing them to the appropriate person.

Reviewing CPS assessments sent to the branch for consideration and assignment.

Maintaining and assignment board as dictated by CPS supervisors.

Assigning assessments based on board/supervisor direction and protocol.

Sending feedback to ORCAH (the child abuse hotline).

Ensuring that immediate response reports are handled as a priority.

Maintaining tracking logs.

Cross reporting assignments to law enforcement.

Working conditions:

This position requires the review of reports where the information could be uncomfortable.

Occasional paid overtime on nights and weekends may be required.

A hybrid work schedule may be considered upon successful completion of a 6-month trial service period.

You may interact with a wide range of people including some who have experienced trauma, exhibit challenges in controlling their anger, or other unexpected emotions impacted by drug use, cognitive impairments, or other factors.
