Job Description

Job Summary:

Under limited supervision, the CASA Case Manager is responsible for recruiting, training, and supervising CASA volunteers to ensure effective advocacy for children involved in the court system. The Case Manager manages case assignments, supports volunteers, attends relevant meetings and hearings, and ensures compliance with program standards. The role requires extensive collaboration with court personnel, agencies, and community organizations, as well as regular reporting and data management. The Case Manager performs duties with minimal oversight and is expected to demonstrate leadership, initiative, and a commitment to the best interests of children served by the program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



Recruit and interview volunteer candidates for the CASA program.

Conduct advocate training to address the best interests of children.

Complete initial intake for incoming cases and assign advocates.

Supervise CASA volunteers to ensure compliance and effective involvement.

Attend team decision-making meetings, family treatment meetings, and court hearings as needed.

Provide resources, support, and follow-up for advocates.

Respond to case crises and assist in developing alternative resolutions.

Monitor and review advocate monthly reports.

Edit, approve, and submit court reports to relevant parties.

Prepare volunteer performance evaluations for director approval.

Present program information to community groups and civic organizations.

Assess best practices and recommend program improvements.

Assist in developing program goals and implementation strategies.

Develop department procedure manuals, enter database information, and prepare relevant reports.

Provide coping skills training (ACEs) to court-ordered youth, foster care workers, and foster care parents.

Participate in Performance and Quality Improvement plans.

Ensure CASA advocates receive 12 hours of annual training.

Cultivate relationships with court, private agencies, and Department of Health & Human Services personnel.

Remains current in child advocacy skills and techniques and program compliance.

Maintains regular and consistent attendance.

Operates standard office equipment and uses required software applications.

Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



Knowledge of:

Child welfare, court systems, and advocacy practices.

Volunteer management and training principles.

Community resources and support services.

Skill in:

Listening, verbal, and written communication.

Leadership and supervision.

Crisis intervention and problem resolution.

Data management and report preparation.

Bi-lingual language skills preferred

Ability to:

Work effectively with judicial officers, court staff, therapists, agency personnel, and educators.

Organize and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Communicate effectively with diverse audiences.

Cultivate professional relationships with stakeholders.

Travel extensively for court, training, and special events.

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:



Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's degree in public administration, legal services, social work, psychology, human services, or related area, or equivalent work experience ~and~ Minimum of 3 years working with children in a CASA program, court setting, Department of Health & Human Services, or private foster care/adoption agency preferred, or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.

Licenses/Certifications Required at Date of Hire: o Valid driver's license

Working Conditions:



Hours:

Normal business hours. Some additional hours may be required.

Travel Required:

Local travel to courts, training locations and special events.

Working Environment:

Climate controlled office environment. Court house and community settings which may include weather elements.

Pay: $48,000.00 - $59,696.79 per year
