Job Description

The Courier service Supervisor plays a vital role in ensuring that the day to day operations of the service run smoothly. They ensure that services are delivered against Service level agreements.

Essential Functions

Planning of drivers to ensure continuity of the service to include efficient allocation of annual leave and training days managing absence via relief staff

Be the first line manager for drivers and admin

To review courier route data to ensure that collections and deliveries are completed according to specification requirements

To audit vehicles to certify that they are maintained in a roadworthy condition

First line management for performance development reviews and return to work interviews

Investigation of accidents, near misses and complaints

Undertake operational duties as per Courier Services Driver job description, as required

Demonstrate regular communications with your team

Provide statistics on training route compliance and customer feedback

Support with the upkeep and maintenance of health and safety folders and notice boards

To ensure vehicles are maintained and clean for service

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Good knowledge of labor supervision to enable service delivery within labor budget

Proven experience of supervising a team

Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to relate to staff and customers at all levels

Essential

Experience of supervising and training a team

Computer Skills

Desirable

Understanding of courier services
