We are seeking a reliable and professional Courier Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely delivering packages and goods to various locations, ensuring timely and accurate service. This role requires excellent customer service skills, familiarity with route driving, and the ability to handle physical tasks such as heavy lifting and load/unload operations. Experience with commercial driving, warehouse procedures, and operating equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks is a plus. The Courier Driver plays a vital role in maintaining our company's reputation for dependable delivery services.
Responsibilities
Safely operate box trucks or similar commercial vehicles to deliver packages across assigned routes.
Load and unload goods efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks when necessary.
Ensure accurate loading of items according to delivery schedules and customer specifications.
Drive route-driven deliveries while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients during deliveries.
Maintain delivery logs, route documentation, and vehicle inspection records.
Perform routine vehicle checks and report any maintenance issues promptly.
Assist in warehouse tasks including inventory management, stock organization, and material handling as needed.
Handle manual transmission driving if required, demonstrating safe driving practices throughout the shift.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a delivery or courier driver, with knowledge of route driving best practices.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; Commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred but not mandatory depending on vehicle type.
Experience operating box trucks or similar commercial vehicles; forklift or pallet jack experience is a plus.
Ability to lift heavy loads safely and perform physical tasks such as moving and heavy lifting regularly.
Strong customer service skills with professional communication abilities.
Familiarity with warehouse operations is desirable.
Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and adhere to delivery schedules.
Knowledge of safety protocols related to heavy lifting, vehicle operation, and load handling.
