ROLE OVERVIEW:

The Senior Manager Business System role will serve as senior lead across multiple software and IT related initiatives, working with existing and new technologies to develop innovative solutions for the business. Working with an Architectural design mind-set will lead developers, analyze, design, develop software applications to support organization\xe2\x80\x99s business. Controls and/or provides solutions to single and/or multiple organizations, with minimal management guidance.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides technical expertise in analyzing, designing, estimating, and developing software applications to project schedules.
  • Provides technical subject matter expertise in reviewing, analyzing, and resolving complex issues.
  • Responsible for resolution, communication, and escalation of critical technical issues.
  • Ensures the preparation of design, systems and user documentation as needed.
  • Identifies and recommends Industry best practices.
  • Manages and works with a team of developers (internal and consultants).
  • Works with complex deadline driven projects with minimal supervision.
  • Design/develop with minimum requirements by effectively coordinating activities between business analysts, scrum leads, developers and managers.
  • Liaise with vendors for resourcing, budgeting and project management.
  • Provides status notes and extensive documentation on day to day and ongoing project tasks.
  • Interacts with OEM technology teams to understand and execute on integrations between business system and OEM systems
  • Actively participates in IT strategic and tactical plans involving software architecture, automation, data flows and modernization
  • Hires, trains, mentors and develops new staff
  • Establishes development standards for the team and improves development processes
  • Manages the development tools
  • Ensures high quality Software is developed
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERTISE:
  • 10+ years\xe2\x80\x99 professional experience in software/application development, with direct experience managing a team of developers/analysts.
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree
  • Experienced, highly skilled in the following technologies and programming language such as COBOL, .NET, Java, Python C#, C/C++.
  • End to end understanding of software architecture, design, development and implementation.
  • Experience with ERP systems and implementations, as well as business operations systems.
  • Experience using Scrum, Agile modelling and adaptive software development.
  • Continuous integration and build process, test automation and deployment experience.
  • Experience performing project management activities to guide a team on course and on deadline.
  • Applies knowledge/skills to a range of standard to complex activities.
  • Commitment to building and leading a \xe2\x80\x9cteam-based\xe2\x80\x9d culture.
  • Completes own role independently or with minimal supervision/guidance.
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills.
  • Experience writing, reviewing technology documents, including code design documents.
PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
  • COBOL experience, coupled with HP NonStop native language
  • Similar industry experience in heavy equipment and/or dealership model
  • Experience and skills utilizing interface bus technology
