Corporate Security Officer
Job Description
GENERAL SUMMARY:
We are currently seeking to fill a first shift position for a security officer at our Creative Studios in Westlake, Ohio. The ideal candidate will be professional, adaptable to change, and be customer service oriented.
The Security Officer provides for the protection of the company\xe2\x80\x99s associates, visitors, and assets. Officers will recognize and respond to unusual situations and take appropriate actions, including: application of company policies and procedures, investigation of incidents, monitoring and operating security equipment, monitoring parking/traffic control, and responding to emergency calls.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide a high level of customer service to all American Greetings associates, vendors, and visitors
- Report and investigate and unusual incidents
- Operate electronic access control and monitor activity
- Monitor alarms and all CCTV cameras and monitors
- Serve as a liaison with local law enforcement and other first responders
- Conduct fire and safety drills, providing training in applicable areas
- Conduct daily walking tours of the building to ensure the safety of the building and all occupants
- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population
Experience Required:
Two years experience in a security related field preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Computer knowledge
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Ability to multi-task
Education Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- Associates Degree. Criminal Justice, Police Science, or equivalent work experience preferred
