Get your hard hat ready. We\xe2\x80\x99re not just renovating the travel experience \xe2\x80\x93 we\xe2\x80\x99re renovating our physical spaces too. And our Corporate Real Estate team is on the front lines of procuring, designing and developing spaces at all our hubs, stations and city locations across the world. From airport affairs and business services to planning and development, this team is responsible for all our leases and major construction and renovation projects, system wide.

Key Responsibilities:

Manages negotiations and relationship activities with governing bodies at assigned smaller or express served airports and cities in the domestic or international system. Portfolios typically consist of 45+ smaller stations with annual budget responsibilities at these smaller stations typically less than $1MM per station. Ensures effective cost control, operational flexibility and asset utilization that best supports United\'s business strategy.

  • Lease and Relationship Management
  • Reviews and coordinates leases and other business issues related to the company\xe2\x80\x99s rights for properties and facilities
  • Works with internal and external organizations and key collaborators to ensure CRE projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Is responsible for varied professional services and consultants to accomplish all tasks associated with scope of properties some of which may not be directly handled by United
  • Must mediate between often conflicting priorities of collaborators and/or advocate on United\xe2\x80\x99s behalf
  • Must conduct activities with limited oversight and make decisions in the field that best support the company
  • Financial Analysis/Budgeting
  • Performs financial analyses and takes actions to influence airports, municipalities, authorities, other air carriers, and airport tenants in the areas of rates and charges, capital improvement programs, airport Master Plans and airport capacity for the enterprise
  • Coordinates accounting and cost controls for budgeting, forecasting and payment of rentals, landing fees, facility charges at assigned locations
  • Responsible for SOX compliance and other regulatory accountability for assigned portfolio
  • Solid understanding of airport operations, finance, construction and political/regulatory processes are vital to be impactful in this area
  • Industry Affairs
  • Engages with industry peers, industry associations, internal/external legal and regulatory experts to protect United\xe2\x80\x99s interests
  • Must synthesize multiple objectives and decide on optimal strategy to achieve success often without immediate support of company leadership
  • Travel expectations to portfolio stations ~30%

Qualifications

What\xe2\x80\x99s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in related field
  • Airline, airport, commercial real estate experience or contract negotiation experience
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
  • Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Business Administration or Law
  • Two to five years airline, airport, commercial real estate experience or contract negotiation experience
  • Able to collaborate with and influence stakeholders
  • Airline or airport experience
